About 422 million people worldwide have diabetes, India is known as the diabetes capital of the world and more than 90 million people live with diabetes in India unfortunately, 50 percent of the population is undiagnosed they don’t know whether they have it or not. Diabetes is a chronic disease and diabetes complications greatly impact human life so awareness plays a very important role in diabetes prevention and control.

DIABETES TOURNAMENT

Kabaddi is the oldest game in rural India. This is the best physical activity to promote health among children and youth with diabetes. There are theories suggesting that Kabaddi originated from the Vedic Period of Indian history. UWAD arranged School Kabaddi Games for children with diabetes. Non-diabetic children could also participate, but team captains were only diabetic children. This kabaddi competition is conducted in different schools.
